洛杉磯會議及旅游局局長恩武德先生致同業的一封信

今日，洛杉磯會議及旅游局局長恩武德先生宣布，他計劃于2020年7月1日退休。

在他的領導下，洛杉磯旅游產業逐步發展為一個價值370億美元的城市經濟支柱。在任期間，恩武德奔走于政府機構間，帶領整個旅游行業吹響集結號，制定了在2020年內累積迎接全球5000萬訪客的宏偉目標，并于2018年底提前兩年完成。

很有幸在我的職業生涯中兩次與恩武德先生共事。對我來說他是摯友，也是領袖和榜樣。他不斷激勵每一位同事的個人發展，引領洛杉磯旅游局勇攀新高，走向行業翹楚。他待人真誠，在不斷變化的環境中堅守自己的原則和信念，在現今時代實屬難得，值得所有人敬仰。

在全球旅游市場營銷和推廣方面具有領先地位的洛杉磯會議及旅游局（洛杉磯旅游局）擔任主官，歷經了輝煌的八年，是時候開啟我人生新的篇章了——我將于2020年7月1日退休。

能夠代表天使之城與各位有緊密合作的機會，共同將洛杉磯打造成為世界首選的目的地之一，讓我倍感榮幸和驕傲。

正如你們所知，目前的商業氣氛和總體的經濟下行趨勢要求洛杉磯旅游局對其商業計劃進行全新的調整，以便在“新常態”下重塑前行方向。在這個關鍵時刻，我想洛杉磯旅游局更需要一個充滿活力的新生代領導者的引領。

令我最欣慰的是，這些年能夠吸納和領導一支富有奉獻和承諾精神的全球性專業團隊，他們各個都能力超群、才智卓著。我們目前的首席運營官博亞當(Adam Burke)將在6月30日我離任之后履行代理CEO的職責。到洛杉磯旅游局之前，亞當先生25年的行業經歷中有17年是在希爾頓全球集團任職，擔任過希爾頓集團的多個高層管理職位，包括戰略規劃、客戶忠誠度管理、國際市場營銷、休閑與多重品牌營銷，以及大客戶關系等，具有豐富的從業資質和經驗。

我非常感激有機會擔任洛杉磯旅游局局長一職，它讓我50年的旅游與酒店業生涯錦上添花，歷程圓滿。

Dear Partners in Tourism,

After leading the global marketing and promotion efforts for the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board for nearly eight wonderful years, the time has come for me to set off on my next chapter – retirement beginning July 1, 2020.

It has been my honor and privilege to represent the City of Angels and work closely with each of you to elevate Los Angeles as one of the world’s premier travel destinations. In our time together, tourism has become a powerful force in L.A.’s economy, growing into a $37 billion industry while supporting 534,000 jobs countywide – the highest total on record. We set an ambitious goal of welcoming 50 million visitors by 2020, and we accomplished that goal two years early.

As you are all well aware, the current business climate and general economic downturn requires Los Angeles Tourism to adopt a new business plan to navigate what emerges as “the new normal,” and it is my belief that Los Angeles Tourism needs an energetic and next generation seasoned executive to lead that charge.  

It has truly been a delight to assimilate and lead an incredibly dedicated and committed global team of tourism professionals, and I leave you in extremely capable hands. Our current COO Adam Burke, with whom many of you work closely, will assume the role of interim CEO after my departure on June 30th. While you likely know him in his current operational capacity, he’s a 25-year industry veteran including 17 years with Hilton Worldwide, where he was responsible for global management of the Honors guest loyalty program. During his tenure at Hilton, he held management positions in a variety of areas including strategic planning, CRM, international marketing, leisure & multi-brand marketing and corporate partnerships.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as Los Angeles Tourism’s Chief Executive Officer, a fulfilling journey that crowns my more than 50-year career in hospitality and tourism.
