Position Description:

Job Title: Trade Manager – Eastern, Southern China and Hong Kong

Report Line: Chief Representative, Greater China

Job Description:

1. Understand the Eastern, Southern China and Hong Kong markets, and regularly provide market updates and insights by collecting relevant statistics/market intelligence and conducting business reports/analysis to support strategic planning and effective market development;

2. Establish and maintain constructive cooperation with travel trade partners to develop desired travel products and strengthen Denmark and Norway’s competitive position in the responsible markets and eventually achieve relevant KPIs such as bed nights and expenditure;

3. Develop, maintain and enhance a database of travel trade contacts for Eastern, Southern China and Hong Kong through digital platforms;

4. Work in a team to organize destination road shows in Greater China and FAM trips to Denmark and Norway;

5. Provide up-to-date destination information to travel trade via seminars, sales calls, trainings and daily trade enquiries. Review and update all relevant content in the travel trade online training platforms, and liaise with key accounts and other agents to ensure maximum participation in this training program;

6. Maintain and proofread the contents to ensure website of http://www.beiou.org to be an effective content source preferred and fully used by trade partners;

7. Coordinate brochure content with partners and suppliers. Facilitate the distribution of brochures and other trade related promotional material to agents across the responsible markets;

8. Monitor trade and marketing activities of other long-haul destination competitors in the responsible regions and provide timely reports and analysis;

9. Able to travel to the responsible markets on monthly basis for the first year and frequently from the second year;

10. Other tasks assigned by Chief Representative, Greater China.

Job Specification:

1. Bachelor degree or above in marketing, tourism, business administration or a suitable combination of education and working experience;

2. Demonstrated experience in travel industry or other related fields (minimum five years); 

3. Excellent trade networks in Eastern, Southern China and Hong Kong and relationship building expertise;

4. Hands on experience in dealing with tour operators, airlines, MICE operators and travel agents;

5. Sound knowledge or experience in destination and/or consumer marketing;

6. Strong leadership skills with high level of self-motivation and innovative thinking;

7. Effective interpersonal skills and good team work spirit;

8. Able to perform coordination tasks, undertake multiple assignments and adherence to deadlines;

9. Project management including budget management experience;

10. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and highly developed English language skills;

11. Good presentation skills;

12. Strong working knowledge of MS Office;

13. Destination knowledge of Nordic countries willbe an advantage;

14. Be able to frequently travel both domestically &internationally;

15. Cantonese speaking ability will be a plus.
